England Defeat Ireland - IRB Photo

England stamped its passage to the WRWC finals with a resounding, five-try win over Ireland 40-7. From the outset of the tournament, the Irish asked, “Why not us?” and, today, the Red Roses responded, “Because we’re the better XV.” And, they were.  England will play in the finals, and if it’s France, it will represent the top two teams in 2014 Six Nations Championship won by Les Bleues. If Canada, a rematch of the tournament’s only tie.

In an earlier game, Spain beat Kazakhstan 18-5 to play South Africa for ninth place.
