The venue was Brophy Field, Hanover, New Hampshire, at Dartmouth College for the 2006 National High School Championship. The finalists were the perennial rugby powerhouses, Jesuit (Sacramento) against Highland (Salt Lake City).

Jesuit prevailed 19-13 winning its third title, defeating the 16-time Utah champion in their long-standing rugby rivalry. The winners were seeded second while Highland was slotted in the number one position.

In fact, the top four seeds advanced to the semi-finals, with Highland beating 4th seeded Katy (Texas) 11-6, and Jesuit toppling 3rd seeded Westerville (Oho) 24-3. Katy would defeat Westerville 24-21 for third place.

The remaining places in the 2006 high school standings went to Penn HS (5th), Doylestown (6th), Budd Bay (7th) and St. Edward, Cleveland (8th).

Highland was coached by the legendary Larry Gelwix. Jesuit scrumhalf Pierce Cooley received the tournament MVP honor.

Watching his Utah alma mater lose on his college's home pitch, was Dartmouth Head Coach Alex Magleby.
