The Subaru 7s, run by the Delaware Rugby Foundation, was held this past weekend.

Of special interest was the collegiate division, which featured seven teams slated to play in the USA 7s Collegiate Rugby Championship in Philadelphia June 2-3.
All four pool winners were CRC teams: Delaware, Penn State, North Carolina State, and Maryland.

Maryland defeated NC State 24-12 to make the final, where they faced Delaware, 29-0 winners over Penn State.

Led by an MVP performance by Pat Mullarkey, Delaware won the final 33-17.

CRC teams also in the competition were Temple, Army, and Navy.

In the Boys/U19 Division, St. John's College Prep won the cup over Salesianum  12-7. Team SWAG took the Plate over St. Augustine (NJ) 17-5. Vaux out of Philadelphia beat Salesianum II 26-5 for the Bowl.

Hempfield took the girls bracket.

Hempfield will participate in the High School Girls division of the High School Rugby Championship, held at the same time as the CRC in Philadelphia. Salesianum and St. Augustine will be in the Boys HSRC.

Twenty-eight teams participated this year. All tournament proceeds go to fund afterschool programs for Middle school kids in Delaware and promote the growth of high school rugby in Delaware.
