Just one change will be made to the roster from the USA's silver-medal winning side in both Sydney and Hamilton. Marcus Tupuola is in and Ben Broselle is the 13th man and injury cover, replacing Anthony Welmers and Pat Blair, who covered the same roles the last leg of the World Series.

The rest of the team, sans Maka Unufe and Perry Baker, is back. Unufe remains unavailable, and Baker is expected to miss at least 2-4 more tournaments with a broken jaw. Where Welmers and Blair were forward cover, Broselle and Tupuola are outside backs, both hoping to make their World Series debuts. Tupuola is product of Notre Dame College who's suited up for the San Diego Legion, and Broselle is a sophomore at UCLA.

“It’s exciting for Marcus who has done extremely well since he joined the program," said head coach Mike Friday. "He has adjusted to the training volumes amazingly and he is a ball of positive energy who is effervescent on the pitch and instinctive in attack. I am looking forward to seeing him take the next step.”

The Eagles enter the USA Sevens as favorites for the first time ever. Defending champions, they're also tied for first in the World Series standings. They have a competitive pool draw, however, as Kenya, Canada and France have all had the USA's number plenty over the years.
