The third leg of the Men’s Northeast Qualifying will take place this weekend at Quinnipiac Recreational Fields in Cheshire, Connecticut. A mirror image of the last tournament, the field of eight will once again compete for a place at the National Tournament.

With two legs of qualifying in the books, the standings are starting to take shape. Three teams have emerged from the pack to take a commanding lead in points.

Despite not winning either of the first two qualifiers, Old Blue 1 sits tied atop the standings with Long Island. Consistency seems to be pacing Old Blue as they finished in second place in both previous qualifiers.

Long Island is looking to build upon their last performance with another victory at New Haven. After narrowly losing to Middlesex in the Cup Semi-Final at the Jo Jo Moore Qualifier, Long Island has yet to lose another game. With a victory and a third place finish, Long Island is tied with Old Blue 1 going into this weekend.

The Middlesex Barbarians sit two points back as they had a disappointing fourth place finish at Monmouth. Middlesex will need to return to form in order to move back into first place in qualifying.

Here are the current Northeast Qualifying standings as we move into the third of five qualifiers this weekend:

3 Middlesex 2 38
