Kutztown continued its undefeated 7s campaign Saturday with a third tournament title in as many attempts. The Golden Bears went 4-0 on the day, dominating in typical fashion. KU, 12-0 in 7s this spring, has now won two ACRL series tournaments and one Empire event.

Stony Brook finished highest amongst actual Empire members, second, falling 50-0 to KU in the tournament final. St. Bonaventure blanked Brockport, winner of the series opener the week prior at Rutgers, in the third-place game. Buffalo won the Plate and Ithaca the Bowl.

The Golden Bears were led by two sophomores, wing Alex-Faison-Donahoe (Portland Ore.) and prop Jordan Ghyzel (Ontario NY). Each had five tries on the day. Junior scrumhalf Niku Kruger led all scorers with four tries and 15 conversions.

Kutztown will crash the Empire party this coming weekend, too, when Buffalo hosts the third leg of the series. KU’s results do not count toward the series standings, however, which are led by Brockport.
