Day one of Pacific 7s sees four teams left with a shot at an automatic bid to USA Rugby's inaugural college 7s national championship.

Utah was the only team to escape pool play undefeated, going 4-0 with wins over Colorado, Arizona State, Oregon and Oregon State. As Pool A champs they'll face Washington, runner up in Pool B, in one semifinal. The Huskies finished with the same record, 3-1, as Pool B champs UCLA, but lost head-to-head in the tournament's first game. In the other semifinal the Bruins draw Colorado, whose only loss came 24-15 at the hands of the Utes.

Host Stanford, who finished third in Pool A despite beating pool champ UCLA, draws Oregon State in one consolation semifinal. Arizona and Arizona State meet in the other. Winless Oregon and Washington State play for ninth.
