This past weekend’s action in international 7s produced some significant changes in standings placement for the two USA 7s national teams – one for the better, one for the worse.
After finishing tied for last in Wellington, the USA men’s team dropped from 12th to a tie for 14th. They were bypassed by Scotland and England, and saw Australia and Canada, just two and one points ahead before Wellington, extend their leads to 14 and 8 points, respectively.
Meanwhile, the USA women moved up after finishing second at the Houston 7s.
Entering the tournament 9th with 4 points, the Eagles added
another 18 points and jumped to 6th, just two points behind
Russia and South Africa.
The USA jumped past Canada, Spain and the Netherlands to move up.
