Schuylkill River won and finished second at the Rockaway 7s in Rockaway, NY Saturday.
The defending national runners up were just too strong for the field. Schuylkill II beat Brookline, Connecticut Yankees B, and Suffolk B to sweep pool play, before shutting out Detroit in the semis to make the final.
The Schuylkill River I side shut out Rockaway B, Monmouth B, and SUNY Binghamton - total score 124-0, before shutting out the Connecticut Yankees in the quarters.
It wasn't until the semis that they gave up any points, beating Monmouth 24-12. That set up the final, which was the toughest match for both teams all weekend - and kudos to Schuylkill for playing it, as many clubs decide to skips such a game. Schuylkill I won 12-7.
All in all, 11 wins (including one by forfeit) and one loss - which was also a win.
