No. 2 Kutztown drops too as they lost to Penn State in the
Halloween 7s. They drop to below Penn State (new into the rankings after not
playing much … there’s that idleness penalty again), and are kept in a
virtually three-way tie with PSU and Delaware. UCLA moves up a little,
perhaps not as much as we’d like, while Texas A&M also gets a bump.
But the really good news is that the top seven... Read More
Central Washington won the NCRC easily, which
was expected. They don't move up because they did what we expected them to
do, and are in a group of teams who are all, frankly, equally strong. We
could be tempted to start moving the more idle teams down, but that's not
going to accomplish anything. The top seven are our top seven until further

That performance made it plain to us that the Cougars are serious. BYU
moved up from #11 to #5. Meanwhile Cal takes apart their opposition in the
Buckeye 7s and move up to #2.
Davenport drops down some after losing a game at the ACRL 7s. Now, it's
true this wasn't Davenport's top and very best side, which is, in part, why
they don't get dinged more. However, they have to be penalized... Read More
It's the beginning of the college 7s season, and it's time to rank the best
teams in the country.
We have looked carefully at not only the teams' 2011-2012 performances, but
who they are returning.
It's a tough call. Life University won the national title, and finished 4th
at the CRC, so could well be #1. Dartmouth is always strong, but lost some
really outstanding players.... Read More
