The USA Eagles have chance to defeat Ireland when they play on June 10, even if a slim chance. There are some positive signs for a potential upset. The last time the two sides met, the match was a closely contested 15-12 in Houston. It is a Lions’ year, so Ireland is forced to travel without several key players. And, most importantly, the Eagles won the 2017 Americas Rugby Championship, and that... Read More

After a frustrating loss to Scotland in the semi-finals, the London 7s ended with a thud for USA, losing 22-19 to Canada. Canada opened well, and then came back from a second half deficit to claim the bronze medal. It has taken a while, but in the latest episode of The Carter Divide, Ethan and I finally talk about some college rugby.
The episode is available on iTunes, Stitcher, and here.

The USA Eagles looked like a different side in the Americas Rugby Championship than the team who lost all three of their November matches. They looked confident and fit. They looked like a side likely to win in each match they played.
Before the match against Argentina XV, I looked at some of the things beyond the four wins in the ARC that suggested the Eagles are moving in the right direction.... Read More

For the second tournament in a row, the USA Eagles headed into their third match 2-0 and having already secured a spot in the cup quarterfinals. Unlike against England last weekend, though, the Eagles never let Australia into the match. The final was 29-5, and USA head into the cup... Read More

The wind introduced an element of chance and chaos to the match, but in the end it was a simple pass to Andrew Durutalo that sealed the bronze medal for the Americans, 19-15.

It was a turbulent day two for the USA Men in Las Vegas. Things looked great for a while, then terrible for a while, and then great again. The day wrapped up on a definite high note as the Eagles headed off to rest and prepare to play South Africa in the cup semi-finals.
