Former USA 7s coach Al Caravelli, along with 1823 coach Paul Holmes, Belmont Shore 7s coach James Walker and Ohio State coach Ron Bowers, are putting on a free Olympic Rugby clinic Friday May 25 at Fred Beekman Park in Columbus, Ohio.

The clinic is open to all high school athletes interested in playing in the upcoming Columbus High School Olympic Rugby Conference and to all interested rugby coaches who want to develop their 7s coaching skills.

The clinic is part one of a two-day sevens weekend in Columbus, as the Larrimer Cup kicks off Saturday at Mechanicsburg High School. 1823, the Cincinnati Wolfhounds, the Pittsburgh Harlequins and the Chicago Lions will compete for the men’s cup, and Ohio State, Penn State, Princeton and Michigan.

The Larrimer Cup is named for Terry Larrimer, a prominent rugby man and lawyer who played with Princeton, Michigan, Ohio State, Scioto Valley, the SudAmericano Men’s Club of DC and several all-star and touring sides.
