The eight teams competing for the DII Men’s club national title were determined this past weekend. The teams will compete over in two regionals on May 20-21.


Heading to Founders Field in Pittsburgh will be the Morris Lions, Life, the Detroit Tradesmen and the Washington Irish.

Morris won the northeast after winning the empire and beating the Mystic Barbarians in a tightly contested game. The Lions will take on Life University in one quarterfinal. The Running Eagles were impressive on back-to-back days winning by over 40 points in both games to capture the Deep South.

In the other eastern quarterfinal, the Tradesmen will battle the Washington Irish. The Irish outlasted Philadelphia-Whitemarsh and Detroit edged long time rival Wisconsin 25-12.


Out West, the Sacramento Blackhawks, Little Rock, St. Louis Bombers and the Ventura County Outlaws will head to Kino Sports Complex in Tucson.

The Blackhawks won a shootout over Tacoma 47-26 and will meet the Little Rock Stormers. The Stormers won the Red River with an emphatic 47-18 victory over Tulsa.

In the other half of the region, the St. Louis Bombers had sown up their spot for a few weeks. They will battle Ventura County, who outlasted Red Mountain 39-10.
