Dartmouth stays atop the Ivy League men’s competition after throttling Yale 91-0 Saturday.
Pat Flynn, John Descalzi, Dylan Jones, and Erik Warnquist all scored two tries for the Big Green, while Madison Hughes set up several tries and kick six conversions before giving way to a sub.
While Dartmouth has cruising, Harvard and Brown were battling. Brown looked the stronger early as Harvard suffered in its decision-making – kicking at the wrong time, for example. Flyhalf Gabe Cunningham went down early with an injury and that didn’t help Harvard at all, but slowly their forwards began to take control, and wing John Jeffers, captain and No. 8 Alex Cunha, center Tom Schadewald, and wing Brendan Hanrahan scored tries to overhaul Brown 28-21.
“We made life difficult for ourselves, but the guys showed plenty of character and worked very hard,” said Head Coach David Gonzales.
Penn got their season started with a hard-nosed 22-17 win over Princeton, and Cornell won big over Columbia 39-15.
