The Fall DIA campaign is coming to a close. Several conferences had post season games to determine playoff positions while other conferences are getting under the bulk of their season under way.
Army won Rugby East a few weeks ago but other teams are jockeying for playoff spots. Penn State reached the century mark against Buffalo and Kutztown edged St. Bonaventure 52-39 in a shootout.
Penn State has the second spot locked up and Kutztown finished third with the win over the Bonnies.
Wisconsin took home the Big Ten title in dramatic fashion over Ohio State. With the game tied at 13-13, the Badgers intercepted a pass and took it the distance for a game winning score with no time left. Wisconsin earns the automatic bid to the playoffs in the spring.
In the third-fourth place game, Michigan State beat Indiana 26-20.
For the first time, the Liberty held a conference playoffs. The format was the three division winners and a wild card. However, Iona opted not to participate in the playoffs sop AIC took home the first spot in the I-95 division.
The semifinals this past weekend saw AIC defeat Syracuse 43-38 and Umass defeat Binghamton 71-7. The finals are next week.
The top two teams from each division made the playoffs and met this weekend. BYU took home the Northwest and put up 105 points on Air Force in the conference semifinals. Colorado State took down Utah State and will meet BYU in the finals.
Arkansas moved to 4-0 in the south division in the only game on the docket.
The premier game of the weekend was between Lindenwood and Navy. The Lions took home a tight 18-12 win their opening game of conference play. Navy falls to 2-1.
Davenport beat Clemson 28-14 to pick up its first win of the conference season.* They move to 1-1 and clemson falls to 2-0.
Notre Dame lost to Iona in the only non-conference clash 55-21.
