The fall leagues comprising DIA are now mostly underway. The Liberty, Rugby East, Rocky Mountain and Big 10 all are into their campaigns.

Rugby East

The top teams in Rugby East are off to a strong start. Army picked up a pair of wins over the weekend, besting a very improved St. Bonaventure team on Friday 28-10 and blitzing Buffalo by 80 the next day.

The marquee matchup over the weekend came in the form of Penn State traveling to Notre Dame College. The game was close for most of the way but Penn State pulled away late in the second half for a 29-14 win.

All three of the divisions in the Liberty Conference are now under way. In the Empire, Albany and Binghamton picked up their first wins of the year and sit atop the division. Colgate and Oswego are the only teams to play two games in the conference and are 1-1 and 0-2 respectively.

Fordham leads the I-95 Conference with a 2-0 record. The Rams defeated Stony Brook 31-5 this weekend. AIC played their first ever game in DIA and thumped Rutgers 71-0. AIC will likely be one of the tougher tests for Fordham as the Rams bested Rutgers by 31-5 two weeks ago.

Iona, who is the best team in the division right now, took on Navy at home this weekend. The Gaels led 7-3 until the waning moments of the first half. Navy ultimately took the lead and added several scores in the second half to run away 25-7.

Northeastern and UConn opened the season with shut out wins over Rhode Island and Tufts, respectively. No team in the New England division has played more than one game.

Big 10

Two games took place in the Big 10 this weekend. Minnesota edged Michigan 22-15 while Purdue gave Ohio State all they could handle in a 31-24 win for the Buckeyes. The Boilermakers are definitely improved.

Traditional powers Indiana and Wisconsin both won non-conference games and will start conference play this week.

Rocky Mountain

One game took place in this conference over the weekend. Colorado bested New Mexico 49-26. Air Force and Colorado State will begin conference play next weekend.
