The post season is fast approaching in DIAA. Here is where it currently stands with the participating fall conferences.
Brown picked up a close win over Harvard to move to 4-0. Both the Bears and Dartmouth are 4-0 and will meet next week to determine first place. Yale and Harvard will meet as well and the winner will get the third spot in the conference playoffs and the fourth will be out.
The Ivy has a unique playoff system. The North division is the stronger of the two divisions and three of the four teams make the playoffs. The conference awards the Southern division with one playoff spot. Penn and Princeton are both 2-2 and will meet this week to determine the division winner.
Mary Washington remains the top dog here at 4-0. Wins by Virginia Tech and Salisbury moved both teams to 4-2 in conference action. The Mount fell to James Madison and both teams now also sit with two losses.
The division winner gets an automatic spot to nationals and barring anything crazy, Mary Washington will get it. The second and third place teams will play on November 10 to see who gets an at large bid to nationals. It is currently wide open with any of these four teams with two losses having a shot.
The top two teams from each division make the playoffs here. Kentucky is leading the north at 3-0 and Tennessee is 2-1. Both teams should make the playoffs. In the south, Alabama moved to 4-0 and South Carolina moved to 2-1. The Crimson Tide locked up the top spot and South Carolina can lock up a post season berth with a win over Kennesaw State.
St. Joe’s won the battle of unbeaten teams this weekend with a 41-33 win over West Chester. Rowan moved to 4-2 with a win over Temple. IUP and Temple are battling for the fourth spot for conference playoffs. There is one week of conference action left.
The NCRC has had a few weeks of conference play. In pool A, Oregon State and Western Washington are both 2-0. In pool B, Washington State is 3-0 and Gonzaga is 2-1.
Bowling Green is undefeated in this conference. A lot of scores have gone unreported so the playoff picture is a bit murky.
Lindenwood-Belleville beat DII powerhouse UW-Whitewater 48-5 over the weekend. The Lynx should get an at large playoff spot.
