DIAA had another week of action packed conference play. All five conferences had games take place this weekend.

St. Joe’s and West Chester both moved to 2-0 in conference play and Rowan moved to 2-1. In previous years, the conference had two divisions but this season all six teams are in one division. All three of these teams will vie for the top spot and a berth to the DIAA playoffs.

The southeastern Conference features two divisions, the blue and the white. Each division has five teams and the top two from each make the conference playoffs.

Last year’s conference champions, Kentucky needed all 80 minutes to defeat a tough Tennessee team 36-32 in the blue division. Kentucky moved to 1-0 while Tennessee dropped to 1-1.

Also in action, Alabama bested South Carolina 15-7. Both teams compete in the white division. South Carolina is now 1-1 and Alabama is 1-0.

These four teams are odds on favorite to make the conference playoffs.

The premier game of the weekend featured Mount St. Mary’s and Virginia Tech. Both teams were 2-0 coming into the weekend. The Mount edged the Hokies 19-10 to move to 3-0.

Mary Washington came back to conference play with a 47-28 victory over Georgetown. The final game saw Maryland defeat Towson.

Mary Washington and the Mount remain atop the conference as undefeated squads.

The Ivy conference features two divisions, the north and the south. The north is the much stronger of the divisions.

Yale and Dartmouth picked up lopsided wins to move to 2-0 in the north. Brown defeated Princeton 43-0 in its first game of conference play and Harvard picked up its first win over Penn.

Penn leads the south division with a 1-1 record.

Bowling Green continued its conference dominance with a 43-10 over Louisville. The Cardinals gave Bowling Green a tougher game than the score indicated, however, as the two squads were 5-5 at half.

Both Cincinnati and Western Michigan took home wins as well.
