The blender of DII college playoff rugby has chewed up and spit out several teams over the last two weeks, and just 16 teams are left in tact. The result is a lot of shakeup.

Defending National Champion Minnesota-Duluth remains atop the list, having not had to play for a few weeks. The Fighting Penguins were more impressive than anyone in DII in the regular season, except for arguably UW-Whitewater. The Warhawks are also undefeated with no close games.

The rest of the top five played against tougher conference competition. Salisbury and Towson had to play each other, Towson winning in the regular season and Salisbury winning in the Potomac title game. Because they have the two best wins in DII so far this year, against each other, the Sharks and Tgers sit at Nos. 2 and 3, respectively.

Coming in at No. 5 is James Madison. The Cardinals champ had to play VMI, which has proven to be a very good team, and defeated the Keydets by six. In a play-in game over the weekend, Towson had a more decisive win over VMI, contributing to Towson and Salisbury being ranked a little higher.

Joining the Top 25 are VMI, who we were really late on, Bentley and Grand Valley State. Bentley and GVSU get in after winning their conference championships. Making room for them are Xavier, Vassar and Old Dominion, all of whom were toppled prematurely in their conference playoffs.
