In the East Region, Life defeated Lindenwood 27-19 to advance into the D1A finals. It will mark the Running Eagles seventh straight title game. Lindenwood led 6-3 at the half. Life scored four tries to only one for their opponents. Life was ranked second in the nation, while Lindenwood was fifth.
Life owns a three and three result in these D1A championship matches, the wins coming in 2013, 2016, and 2018, and the loses in 2014, 2015, and 2017.
Remember that for a few years the Varsity Cup College tournament siphoned off teams like Cal, BYU, Arkansas, State, Navy, and Army before it folded. Now, the D1A tournament encompasses all the major D1A schools in the country.
In the D1AA final, Dartmouth will meet Chico State in North Carolina.
Good luck to the four finalists.
