The USA Selects kick off the inaugural Americas Pacific Challenge Saturday in Montevideo, Uruguay against the Fiji Warriors at 1:15 ET, and head coach Ray Egan’s side has been named. Captaining the group will be hooker Joe Taufete’e, one of seven capped internationals on the team.

The other capped players joining him in the starting lineup include flyhalf J.P. Eloff (4), openside flanker Pat Blair (1), prop Demecus Beach (1), wing Brett Thompson (6), and fullback Mike Te’o (6). Hanco Germishuys (1 cap) is on the bench. Capped 7s players making their first major foray into international 15s include Stephen Tomasin, Matai Leuta and Martin Iosefo.

Saturday’s match will be shown live on The Rugby Channel, but a subscription is required. Also playing in the competition Saturday at Estadio Charrua are Argentina XV vs. Canada A and Samoa A vs. Uruguay A. The Selects meet Canada A Oct. 12 and Uruguay A Oct. 16.
