The Kansas City Jr. Blues won the 2013 Missouri High School Rugby State Championship Sunday at Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri, beating Park Hill South 22-0. The Jr. Blues coasted through the first day of competition, beating Eureka 29-7 and Priory 22-0 on Saturday.

They continued their dominance on Sunday, blanking the Panthers in the championship game. The Jr. Blues led 15-0 at halftime, and then added another try early in the second half.  They didn't put any more points on the board, but were allowed to get many of their reserves some playing time in the second half.

Next week, both the Jr. Blues and Park Hill South will be heading to Elkhart, Ind. for the National Invitational Tournament. This will be Park Hill South's first trip to Nationals. The upstart program has become a real contender in the greater Kansas City area, challenging more established clubs, the Jr. Blues and St. Thomas Aquinas, usual participants at Nationals.
