One of the newest high school rugby leagues, Oregon currently has ten high school clubs participating in its single school conference. The schedule consists of eight games with each school playing every other school (minus one) once throughout the course of the season.
Union sits atop the standings with a 6-1 record but Reynolds is right on their heals with a 5-2 record. Reynolds defeated Union 29-15 earlier this season earning the head to head tie-breaker.
Reynolds fell victim to Battleground 29-12 and Newberg 34-17 in a hotly contested division. Third through sixth are separated by a mere three points with one weak left to play.
Union will face a winless Canby club and will most likely take first place going into the playoffs. Reynolds battles Central Catholic in a match that they too are favored to win.
Third place Newberg and fifth place Lakeridge will play and with just two points separating them, the game will sure to be an even contest. In the final two games of the weekend, fourth place Prairie faces Lincoln while Oregon City clashes with Battleground.
In a league with so much parity, the final weekend will play a large role in determining the playoff seeding for the state tournament. The tournament will be held on May 10th and May 17th.
