Southern California Boys U-18 Club playoffs started last weekend with quarter-final action.

Southern California rugby is divided into four divisions with the top two teams in each division advancing to the playoffs. The teams are seeded 1-8 based on potential points and potential playoff opponents.  No team is allowed to play a quarter-final playoff match against a division opponent so the seeding is adjusted accordingly.

As things played out undefeated Santa Monica met Fallbrook and handily won 57-17. Their semi-final opponent, Back Bay shut out San Luis Obispo 40-0.

In the other half of the bracket, the Mustangs eliminated Los Angeles 44-15 and await the winner of Orca and Fullerton.

The semi-finals are slated for May 3rd with the finals set for May 10th.
