The European Champions Cup, and some European Challenge Cup matches, will be carried live in the United States on ESPN3. The Heineken and Amlin Cups, the predocessors to the European Pro Club Rugby tournaments, had been previously carried live on Fox Soccer Plus. FSP has since moved away from union content, but still carries league matches. The first round of both competitions begins Thursday and continues through Sunday.

BeIn Sports has picked up the bulk of FSP's old content, showing select Guinness Pro 12 and Aviva Premiership matches weekly. BeIn Sports is available on more basic cable packages than FSP across the country. ESPN3, an all online network, is the former home of the French Top 14.

The clubs of Eagles Blaine Scully (Leicester), Samu Manoa and Cam Dolan (Northampton), and Hayden Smith, Chris Wyles, Thretton Palamo and Titi Lamositele (Saracens) are all competing in the Champions Cup, so their matches will be available live on ESPN3 each round. Eric Fry's Newcastle, Scott Lavalla's Stade Francais, Seamus Kelly's Gloucester and Brett Thompson's Edinburgh compete in the Challenge Cup. For the opening week, Americans can watch Fry's and Lavalla's clubs go head-to-head.
