PORTUGAL IN RED SCRUM AGAINST POLAND IN WHITE

Last week, the European Rugby Championship, the second-tier event on that continent, witnessed the favorites winning all three matches.  Georgia, the highest-ranking nation, defeated Spain 24-10.  The Lelos rank 12th behind Japan and in front of the USA. They will compete in the 2019 World Cup in Pool D, the easiest of the four pools, against Wales, Australia, Fiji, and Uruguay.

Romania, ranked 18, beat Germany 38-10. The Oaks failed to qualify for the RWC 2019. Russia, ranked 19, routed Belgium 64-7. The Bears did qualify for the RWC 2019 and will play in Pool A against Ireland, Scotland, Japan, and Samoa.

In another contest, Portugal walloped Poland 65-5 to move one place above Germany on the World Rugby rankings.

The Six Nations Tournament resumes this weekend when Wales host England on what might be the deciding match to determine the 2019 champions. These fifteens are undefeated at 2-0, and both have already beaten France.

Italy welcome Ireland and France play at home against Scotland,. Les Bleus desperately need a win
