It was a good weekend for USA players in Europe.

Chris Wyles was a sub for Saracens as they beat Ulster 27-16 in the Heineken Cup quarterfinals to make a date with Toulon in the semis.

Meanwhile, in the second-tier Amlin Challenge Cup, Taku Ngwenya started at wing for Biarritz in the French club's 41-31 quarterfinal win over Gloucester. Scott LaValla started at lock for Stade Francais and picked up a yellow card as the Paris club beat Bath 36-20 to make the Amlin semis.

So of the eight remaining teams in Europe, three have regulars who are USA players.

In more domestic competition, Lou Stanfill was back starting for Vicenza in Italy's Serie A. Stanfill helped his clubs crush Avezzano 66-0.

In France's Pro D2, Inaki Basauri was a sub for Tarbes as they lost 16-14 to Auch. Roland Suniula, who has been battling injuries, did not play for Auch.
