Robbie Shaw has joined Eagle teammate Eric Fry with the London Scottish. Shaw's signing was announced by the club Wednesday, and comes in the wake of an injury to one of the club's scrumhalves.

"Rob has been with us on loan for a couple of weeks," said London Scottish backs coach Mike Friday. "Since Jamie Stevenson's injury, we knew scrumhalf was an area where we needed cover."

The signing sees Shaw take a step up in competition, from the National League 1, where he was playing with Esher, to the Greene King IPA Championship - one step below the Aviva Premiership.

Friday cited Shaw's experience, including his 14 caps with the Eagles, as one attractive quality that saw him added to the squad.

"He is slightly older, which suits what we need for the squad right now, and he's a very good professional who works very hard," said Friday. "Rob has got a proven track record. He's calm on the pitch and is a great communicator.

"It's important we integrate Rob into the squad as quickly as we can so he can stake a claim for the scrum-half starting berth."
