Scotland's U20s have defeated the USA U20s 39-3 at the Junior World Championships.

The result means that the USA will play Fiji for 11th on June 23, with the losing team being replaced by Italy in next year's competition.

Fiji lost 19-18 to Samoa.

USA fullback Dylan Audsley provided the only points for the USA, kicking a penalty eight minutes into the 2nd half.

But 22 points from center and captain Mark Bennett put the Americans away. The game was close for a while, as two Bennett penalties kept Scotland ahead by the slim margin of 6-0 for most of the first half. But Scott Steele's try just before halftime gave Scotland a cushion, and a try from Bennett right after the second half began cemented the lead at 20-0.
