The referees for August's World Cup Qualifiers between the USA and Canada have been announced.

Leighton Hodges of Wales will officiate the first match, to be held August 17 at Blackbaud Stadium, in Charleston, SC.

Hodges was the referee for the USA's last two victories, November 9 against Russia, and November 24 against Romania.

On the sidelines will be JP Doyle and Marius Mitrea.

Mitrea is an up-and-coming Italian referee, and he will be a touch judge for both USA v. Canada matches.

The second qualifier, to be held August 24 at BMO Field in Toronto, will be officiated by JP Doyle, with Hodges joining Mitrea on the sidelines.

Doyle is an Irish-born English referee who has refereed in the Churchill Cup, and was the whistle-man for Canada's victories over Tonga and Fiji this past June. He is also most famous for telling players during a Sale v. London Irish Premiership match to "chillax."
