Not all of the teams ranked in this latest Boys High School Single-School
Rankings presented by Selective Service have been on the field yet. The
different seasons means that some competitions - Southern California - will
end before others begin.
Those on the field get a little boost, but we have to instil some judgment
on the idle teams, as well. Jesuit out of Sacramento stays #1 because they
are playing and winning - big. Cathedral out of Southern California are
undefeated and have beaten all of the top teams on their schedule. They
play View Park Prep in their league final this weekend (also ranked, but
lower as a result of their less consistent results). St. Augustine from
SoCal are ranked ahead of View Park as a result of having beaten View Park
in January.
Also moving in or up, De La Salle, which has started well in Northern
California, Greenville, which joins Chapin at 2-0 in South Carolina, and
Clayton Valley, a new single-school team that sprung out of the Diablo HS
club team. Clayton beat beat previously-ranked Dixon, who drops out for
now.
