The second of three Northern California 7s qualifiers kicks off Saturday in Sacramento, Calif. Northern California stands on its own this summer, with its champion at the end of three tournaments qualifying for Nationals.

The EPA Razorbacks won the opening qualifier in San Francisco, and the San Jose Seahawks finished second. SFGG and Olympic Club finished third and fourth, respectively. SFGG, and other teams who saw their 15s seasons extend well into May, like the Sacramento Lions, perhaps underperformed as a result in the first event. Look for them to improve on those performances this time around.

SFGG, especially, is putting some focus on 7s now, as the club is slated to participate in the Limerick, Ireland leg of the World Club 7s.

All 10 teams on the NorCal circuit were asked to commit to playing in all three tournaments, and all of them have obliged. So the field will be the same in Sacramento, with slightly different pools.
