The Pacific Rugby Premiership kicks off this weekend with three matches. Santa Monica, San Francisco Golden Gate and Glendale are on the road against Belmont Shore, Olympic Club and Old Mission Beach Athletic Club, respectively. 

The first two of those games are crosstown rivalry matches. The third pits the two teams who were most active in player acquisition in the offseason. Player movement, and what it means, is the story of the preseason. There are plenty of big names in new jerseys.

The biggest of said names are Todd Clever, Seamus Kelly and Brian Doyle, all experienced Eagles. Clever and Doyle will bear the striped shoulders of OMBAC, while Kelly will find room in an already stacked SFGG midfield. None of those guys played in the inaugural PRP. 

Mose Timoteo, Nick Wallace and Justin Pauga did, but they're playing with new teams this season. Timoteo led SFGG through the glory years and many more, but he's relocated to Denver, and if he suits up this season, it will be for Glendale. Wallace played for Olympic Club last season, but he's now a Raptor, too. Pauga's switch is one of the more intriguing ones.

He's left his longtime club, Glendale, for greener pastures, or at least a greener jersey, with the Denver Barbarians. Players moving between these clubs is a yearly occurence, but the fact that Justin's brother, Zac, remains registered with Glendale makes it interesting. 

There are a ton of freshly graduated faces on PRP rosters, too. Cal's Josh Tucker, Air Force's Jack Bristol, and Utah's Don Pati, all All-Americans of one form or another, have new PRP homes upon finishing college. We've compiled a list of interesting player acquisitions from across the Premiership below.
