The DI rankings are in the final push as we are reaching the latter stages of the playoffs. The rankings held up this week with all of the higher seeds winning games.
The top 10 featured a bevy of ranked teams facing off. The top four showed once again that they are the teams to beat in the country. Lindenwood, Penn State and Indiana played Life, Cal and BYU tough respectively, but were unable to muster enough to scare the teams.
St. Mary’s continues to show its power by thrashing San Diego State. The Aztecs have had a number of quality wins this year but the Gaels handily beat them 72-5. San Diego State drops one spot to number 12.
After losing to Navy last week, Central Washington reemerges in the top 10. With SDSU and Navy losing, the Wildcats bump back up. Although they lost to Navy last week, we believe Central Washington is a top 10 team.
Davenport moves up thanks to the closeness of the Life and Lindenwood game. The Panthers are a hard team to rank because they went winless in the Mid-South but played Life and Lindenwood tough. With those two teams continuing to do well, Davenport moves up.
With Arizona’s thumping win over Baylor, the Bears stay in the rankings is not long. With Utah Valley playing Arkansas State fairly tough a few weeks ago, and with the Red Wolves push to the Penn Mutual Varsity Cup final, the Wolverines enter the rankings for the first time this season.
