Las Vegas Sevens Awards: For the first time, three Americans were named to the Dream Team at last week's HSBC World Rugby Las Vegas Sevens; Danny Barrett, Ben Pinkelman, and Perry Baker. Also selected were Cecil Africa (SA), Matias Ozadczuk (Arg), Jerry Tuwai (Fiji), and Luke Morgan (Can).
In addition, Barrett was named Player of the Finale for his fine gold medal match performance. He tallied four tries in the tournament.
Finally, Perry Baker's brilliant try against Fiji was voted the third rated USA sports Play of the Day by ESPN.
Six Nations Women: For all intents and purposes, the 2018 championship will be decided this week during the fourth round when France (3-0) welcome England (3-0). The Red Roses finished second to New Zealand in this year's Rugby World Cup played in Ireland. The match will be Saturday while the other two games - Ireland home versus Scotland, and Wales at home against Italy - are on Sunday.
Six Nations Men: The key contest is between an undefeated Ireland and rejuvenated Scotland, which upset England last week. England must rebound in a match away against France at the Stade Francais.
Rugby European Men's Championship: Three matches this weekend with a possible decision on which nation advances to the RWC 2019 European 1 spot. Games pit point qualification leader Romania against Belgium, Russia play Georgia (already in the RWC), and Spain host Germany.
Vancouver Sevens: Round six begins this weekend inside a domed stadium, the tour's only enclosed venue. The pools follow:
A - USA, Uruguay, Canada, Australia
B - Kenya, France, Fiji, Spain
C - England, Wales, Argentina, Samoa
D - Scotland, South Africa, New Zealand, Russia
