Almost everyone at the top did what
was expected, and that, ins some ways, includes Herriman. We long
suspected that Herriman's earlier 24-20 loss to Snow Canyon was not
going to be repeated. That turned out to be the case - Herriman beat
Snow Canyon well 41-19 to win the Utah state title.
As a result, Herriman can now bump up to where we think they should be - #5.
Charlotte Catholic moves up because they won their state final against a very strong Providence team 57-0. That's an impressive result.
Ravenwood, Tennessee state winners, finally get in the rankings after we get a current result for them (cautionary tale everyone) while Nakahi from Idaho slip in, also.
It's interesting that in the middle
and lower reaches of the rankings, the single-school teams are not
holding their own against the HS clubs. The very best varsity teams
are, likely, better than many of the best clubs, but lower down the
balance of power shifts.
We're looking forward to a rollicking National Invitational starting tomorrow, with the top eight represented. Greenwich, we know, is miffed to be in the lower tier. But Chapin may very well be a better squad. Both get a chance to prove themselves.
Virtually all men living in the U.S. must register with Selective Service within 30 days of their 18th birthday. Men who fail to register become ineligible for important opportunities such as student loans, job training programs, citizenship for male immigrants, and driver’s license renewal in most states. In addition, registration is required for employment with the federal government, numerous state and local agencies, and a growing number of private employers. Men who fail to register by age 26 can be PERMANENTLY barred from these opportunities. Learn more, check your status, or register today at www.sss.gov.
