Maybe we have put too much stock in the game; if we have, then the rankings will certainly self-correct.
However, right now a victory is a victory, and Cal Poly defeated Cal 22-20 on Saturday. Cal, while not in D1-A anymore, is still regarded as probably the best, and no worse than #2, team in the country right now.
Sure the Bears ran on not their strongest side, but Cal's Bs have won big games before, and Cal Poly wasn't exactly full strength, either. So we go with what we know - Cal Poly won, and for that they move up from 16 to 11 in our latest RUGBYMag.com D1-A rankings.
Texas A&M moves up thanks to a big victory, and everyone else did as expected. The D1-A regular season heats up now, and we can't wait.
