The DII College Rankings remain the same for the second consecutive week. Only a handful of ranked teams played games with all of them facing off against non ranked opponents. Every ranked team that played won, leaving little for us to gauge this early in the season.
NC State and VMI both blanked opponents in the opening weekend of Cardinal Conference action. Additionally, Illinois State opened its season with a victory over UIC 36-7. ISU played a closer than expected game with UIC but they remain the same due to the overall competitive nature of the WIIL Conference.
Western State continues to dominate opponents out West, while Furman picked up a forfeit win in the Southern conference. Both teams moved to 2-0 this season.
All conferences start play this weekend.
