Twenty-two players are in the assembly, while four more are expected on Friday, and the remaining overseas props arrive Saturday or Sunday.

That will expand the group to 31, and therefore Head Coach Mike Tolkin will need to whittle the group down to 26 by Monday.

The players have been going through a series of basic sessions, showing all the national team approach to attack and defense. A few simple plays will be folded in over the next day or two, but, said Tolkin, this camp is as much to introduce some of these players to what it's like to be on the team, and what the expectations are.

The list includes 16 players who have been capped in the last year or so. The youngest is High School All American prop Titi Lamositele, who is only 18, while front-rower Travis Whitlock is only a year out of the USA U20 team.

Several players have come in somewhat improved from recent performances, and the battle at scrumhalf between Mike Petri, Robbie Shaw and Shaun Davis looks to be a good one.

Davies is probably the best goalkicker of the group, and as a result may well play himself into the USA 22 somewhere because of that skill.

USA 7s flyhalf Folau Niua is getting his first serious look in the 15s national team, and showed well as a potential backup or competitor to Toby L'Estrange in the #10 jersey.

The players in camp now are:
Chris Biller
Trevor Cassidy
Chris Chapman
Shaun Davies
Cameron Dolan
Brian Doyle
Zach Fenoglio
Eric Fry
Robert Garvis
Graham Harriman
Luke Hume
Seamus Kelly
Titi Lamositele
Toby L’Estrange
Folau Nuia
Mike Petri
Shawn Pittman
Robbie Shaw
Louis Stanfill
Phil Thiel
Nick Wallace
Travis Whitlock

The players slated to arrive August 9 are:
Todd Clever, Peter Dahl, Roland Suniula and Andrew Suniula.

This is a return to the squad for Roland Suniula, who was out in part due to injury.

Scott LaValla is slated to arrive Saturday, and then Chris Wyles, Blaine Scully, Taku Ngwenya and Samu Manoa will arrive Sunday.
