Rumors linking former Argentina national team coach Marcelo Loffreda with the USA Men's National 15s Team coaching job were somewhat confirmed Monday when Loffreda spoke on an Argentina radio show and said he had been asked to apply.

According to sources, Loffreda and former England and Leicester star Les Cusworth are being looked at as a combo deal.

After coaching Argentina from 2000 through 2007, during which time the Pumas beat France, Wales, Scotland and England, and finished 3rd at the 2007 World Cup, Loffreda moved on to coach at Leicester. He lasted just about a year, but during that time worked with Cusworth, one of Leicester's all-time great players.

The two got along well and Cusworth, who played with USA Rugby CEO Nigel Melville, has visited Argentina on coaching trips since then. Both said they are interested in the job and that USA Rugby has expressed interest in them - possibly using both men as a coaching duo.
