This weekend will see two tributes to the late Dave Sitton, who died suddenly Monday morning at his home in Arizona.

Sitton was the Head Coach of the University of Arizona men’s rugby team for 39 years, as well as a longtime rugby TV broadcaster.

A public Celebration of the Life of late USRFF Director Dave Sitton is planned for 6pm on Sunday, August 18 at the McKale Center on The University of Arizona campus. All who knew and were touched in their lives by Dave are invited and welcome to join family and friends in remembering Dave, and celebrating his life.

Doors will open at 5:30pm. The program will include a tribute to Dave, his many contributions and positive influences on the Tucson community, and scheduled speakers who will represent the many different organizations and groups with whom Dave was connected.

A private rosary service and mass are planned for Friday and Saturday. The public is strongly encouraged to attend the celebration of life at McKale on Sunday.

The United States Rugby Football Foundation will be honoring Dave Sitton's legacy.

In addition, Sitton will be honored at the USA v. Canada game in Charleston, SC Saturday. There will be a moment of silence, and during halftime, Universal Sports will air a special tribute to Sitton.

The voice of American rugby since 1978, has provided commentary for Universal Sports, NBC, ESPN and FOX over the years.

His presence within the rugby and sports communities will be missed.”
