Stations Casinos presents The 2012 Las Vegas Invitational tournament and it is now open for business. Clubs can now officially sign up for the biggest rugby event in North America.

For fun or to win a championship, thousands of athletes come to the LVI

The LVI ( will be held February 9th -11th, 2012 on fields around and near Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, NV. The LVI is a lead-in competition for the USA 7s, the United States stop on the HSBC Sevens World Series circuit (

Teams that have pre-registered to play in any of the 22 brackets of the LVI (and thus reserving a spot) can now confirm their commitment by going to and officially registering. Pre-registered teams will have until November 11th, 2011 (11/11/11) to officially register for the LVI or their pre-registered spot will be given to a team on the waiting list. This is significant because last year, when the website went live,  43 teams were pre-registered. This year, as the website goes live, there are 149 pre-registered teams! Thus is making it even more important for interested teams to confirm their spot.

The LVI is proud to have the Stations Casino’s as the sponsor hotels with special offers on LVI registration, hotel rooms and tickets. Teams register for $350 but receive $200 off their registration if they book the minimum room nights at a sponsor Stations Casino property. Other benefits include special USA 7s ticket prices ($89 for all three days),  special rates at Stations Casinos hotels, free shuttle service from LVI sponsor hotels,  plus many more benefits to be announced soon.

Tournament Director Jon Hinkin said there is heavy interest in the LVI this year.

“Space will go quickly, so teams need to act fast,” he said.  “Our pre-registration pace is 4 times greater than last year so I expect the 2012 LVI to be full soon.

“We have taken much of the guess work out of looking for a great deal and a wonderful place to stay in Vegas. The four sponsor Stations Casinos are all outstanding properties and will appeal to all the teams and fans that come to the LVI. From the Sunset Station, which is the LVI Headquarter Hotel, to Boulder Station and Fiesta Henderson both near the stadium to the Palace Station up by the Strip, we have a place for everyone.”
