After the first five rounds in the 2015-2016 HSBC World Rugby 7s Championship, Fiji leads with 91 points, ahead of second place South Africa by five points. The USA vaulted into a tie for fifth place with Argentina, both at 64 points.

Perhaps, the most startling result in last week's Las Vegas 7s was the dismal outcome for England, which generated only one point. The Red Roses seemed flat and disinterested all weekend, and must recover former winning ways in Vancouver.

Standings      Las Vegas       Total Points

1. Fiji               22                    91

2. South Af.    17                    86

3. NZ                 13                    82

4. Australia     19                    73

5. USA               15                   64

6. Argentina    10                    64

7. England         1                    52

8. Kenya          10                     52

The points this year will take second place in importance to the results of the 12-team Olympics in Rio. One spot remains.

For individual results, the USA's Perry Baker ranks fourth in tries scored with 21. The leader in the championship is South Africa's flashy Seabelo Sabatla who tallied 36. The USA's Madison Hughes ranks fourth in total scored points with 158, 22 behind the leader, Vatemo Ravouvou of Fiji with 180.
