The ninth tournament of the HSBC 2018/2019 sevens series produced another Fiji Cup win, their fourth title of the season. Australia took silver, thanks to the luck of the semifinal draw where they drew France while the USA lost to Fiji.

For the USA, it was the same old story of ending 5-1; via 3-0 pool play, victory in the quarters (Canada), a loss in the semis (Fiji), followed by a win for the bronze medal (France.)

To-date, the USA remain the sole team that has made a top four appearance in all nine of the tournaments. However, Fiji lead the Eagles 164-162 in total points on the strength of their four tournament gold medals. (A win is worth 22-points.)

In the London event, Ireland showed its improvement with a 3-3 record, including wins over England and Scotland. In addition, Japan notched a rare victory against England, which is experiencing a subpar season.
