EMILY SCARRAT, ENGLAND

Last Friday in San Diego, England Women defeated the USA XV, winning 38-5 from six tries. There were no second half points from an outclassed USA fifteen.

The English victory also earned a bonus point in this five-nation (Canada, USA, New Zealand, England, and France), Women’s Rugby Super Championship, which continues the rest of July.

England lead 26-5 at the break. In the match, Heather Kerr notched two scores, and four other England players scored once. Hope Rogers made the sole USA try.

Perennial star Emily Scarrat scored 13-points in the match from one try and eight-points from conversions. Scarrat, now thirty, continues to excel for England, especially, at fifteens. Her illustrious record began in 2013 when she was named England’s Rugby Woman of the Year. She outshined all other players in the Red Roses’ 2014 Rugby World Cup in France when the team won the title and she amassed 70-points to lead all competitors.

New Zealand defeated England 41-32 in the 2017 RWC held in Ireland.

Next up for England is Canada on July 6th while the USA will meet New Zealand July 2. That game is at 5:15 PT, and streamed by FloRugby,
