We can all identify the alleged two fastest men in rugby, who both happen to be American. And we shall see these two - Baker and Isles - in the upcoming Rio Olympics next week. (Play begins, Tuesday, August 9).

But, can you name the alleged fastest woman in rugby? Hint: She originally trained as a track and field athlete. Second hint: She plays for Australia. Third hint: She will also be in the Olympics next week.

The answer is Ellia Green.

Green was born in Fiji but grew up Down Under. She was fast as a child, often outrunning her three brothers.

She started out in the sprints but found rugby. It fit into her desire to be competitive. She said, “I want to be a tough girl who can do anything.”

This Women’s 7’s season, she scored 17 tries, bringing her career total to 61. She was fourth in tries behind Portia Woodman of New Zealand with 24.

Fans will remember her 35-meter dash in the closing minutes of the London Sevens which gave the Wallaroos a last-minute comeback win over Canada.
