Samoa is an unknown quantity in the twelve-nation Women's RWC tournament that begins next Friday, August 1.  The team, which has played fewer tests (18) than all other competitors, has struggled against top competition. In the past two years, they lost to Australia and New Zealand by huge tallies without scoring any points.

They have a better record against the secondary XVs, and an overall test record of 9-9.

Many of the squad have played in New Zealand for universities and clubs, so they have top-class experience. Eleven in the team are over 30-years old.
