Baby Blacks Celebrate U-20 Win

New Zealand retained its first U-20 title in three years, defeating England 21-16, the game played at Giovanni Zini Stadium in Cremona, Italy. The Baby Blacks led narrowly 11-10 at the half, and held on for the win. This tournament has been dominated historically by the Baby Blacks and Red Roses, with only South Africa taking the crown one time.

The Junior Springboks enjoyed a relatively easy time beating France 31-18 for third place.

7th/8th – Ireland 12 – Scotland 9

9th/10th – Argentina 38 – Japan 21

11th/12th – Italy 20 – Samoa 19

Samoa will be relegated to the qualifying championship in 2016, and event played in 2015 without a USA team. The winner this year was Georgia, which will move into next year’s U-20 tournament to be played in England. The Italian team breathed a last second signh of relief as the Samoan penalty taker came up short, and the narrowest of victories for the host nation, the Azzurini.
