Despite the high heat and humidity, Army's Camp #1 was a great success. Thirty-two campers from all over the world...including Singapore, Africa, and Canada...traveled to Highland Falls, NY, to meet new friends, to learn about Army West Point, and, most importantly, to improve rugby skills.
Over the course of three-days, these young female athletes worked with USA capped rugby players and coaches, inlcuding, Phaidra Knight (World Rugby inductee), Tiffany Faaee (2017 USA World Cup Captain), Lara Vivolo (2010 World Cup and Army Women assistant coach, and Stephen Lewis (Bulldogs 7s coach, Collegiate All Stars 7s coach).
Sessions included fitness, tackling, attack, defense, individual skills, and a Q & A session with current Army cadets and rugby players. Thanks to the campers for their hard work and positive attitude!
The second scheduled West Point Girl's Camp commences Thursday, July 12 and runs until July 15.
